Edward
My overall experience was excellent, as I could easily walk to Walton Pier Ltd and Beacon Hill Fort from this venue.

And the hotel was very close to both the Beacon Hill Fort and a ferry port. We came to Harwich for one night, no complains at all for this venue. The Bottle Kiln is an easy walk to the hotel. View of the sea.

Taste the food in The White Coffee house, you only need to walk 450 metres to reach it. A best base for one night.

Joe
The room here is really nice and has a lovely balcony, and The Bottle Kiln is just a short walk away.

Nice atmosphere and very nice location
This was the smallest room I ever slept in. Part of the hotel badly needs maintenance but other parts are fairly nice

At half price might be acceptable to students and the needy traveler.
Redo. Entirely. Or bring prices down to match what is provided for.

Very friendly personnel, good choice of breakfast, twin room reasonably comfortable, very good shower, nice small outside terrace with seaview where you can have breakfast.
Very sorry to say the bedsheets were not clean, but the friendly atmoshphere of the hotel made up for that.

Having stayed here before it was my first choice on this visit and it is a reasonably good hotel with individual rooms and furnishings.
Not so impressed with this visit though. The hotel seemed very understaffed. On check-in it was the cook who rushed out of the kitchen to give me my room key and then I had to go back down to get the internet code which once she had to come out of the kitchen to give me. The premium-priced room 8 was at the back of the hotel, not the front as I would have expected - I'd stayed in room 9 on my previous visit which was at the front! Bar service was very slow and my room didn't get serviced during my stay. Just niggly things but enough to make me think about staying elsewhere next time.
